Superfine: Tailoring Black Style Shines at the 2025 Met Gala
The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City played host to fashion’s most anticipated night, the annual Met Gala, on the first Monday of May. This year’s event, themed "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," celebrated Black dandyism and the pivotal role of clothing and style in shaping Black identities within the Atlantic diaspora. The gala was helmed by a quartet of stylish hosts: Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamilton, Colman Domingo, and A$AP Rocky. The evening commenced with a performance by Silk & Sound, who serenaded attendees with Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s classic duet, "Ain’t No Mountain High Enough."
Adding to the excitement, A$AP Rocky revealed on the red carpet that he and Rihanna are expecting their third child. "It feels amazing, you know. It’s time that we show the people what we was cooking up. And I’m glad everybody’s happy for us because we definitely happy, you know," Rocky shared with the Associated Press.
