Republican Lieutenant Governor Earle-Sears Rebuffs Carville’s Gubernatorial Prediction
Virginia Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears has sharply criticized Democratic strategist James Carville’s recent assertion that she will undoubtedly lose her upcoming gubernatorial race.
On Friday’s episode of "Fox & Friends," Earle-Sears questioned Carville’s predictive abilities, citing his erroneous forecast regarding the 2020 presidential election. "James, my man, do you have some lottery numbers for me? Because you seem so certain," she quipped. "Except, you weren’t certain before with Biden, and look where that got you."
Carville had written an op-ed in The New York Times on October 24, 2020, entitled "Three Reasons I’m Certain Kamala Harris Will Win." This prediction proved to be inaccurate, as then-Vice President Joe Biden emerged victorious.
Recent polls indicate that Earle-Sears is trailing Democratic challenger Rep. Abigail Spanberger. However, Earle-Sears has cited other polling data showing a close race, asserting that her opponent is apprehensive about voters choosing her to continue the successes of the Youngkin administration.
"We’re going to have more job creation, parents are still going to matter in their education, women will be women and men will be men, and our children will be safe – more money in your wallet," she declared.
Earle-Sears views Carville’s prediction with skepticism given his previous electoral misstep. She also criticized his prediction that the Democratic Party would win the House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections.
Carville’s predictions have been a topic of discussion, with President Donald Trump disputing them directly on Friday. "I won the Presidential Election in a landslide, won ALL SEVEN SWING STATES, THE POPULAR VOTE, AND ALL FIFTY STATES SHIFTED REPUBLICAN, a record, and now I have the best polling numbers I’ve ever had," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
"The Democrats, run by broken down losers like James Carville, whose weak of mind and body, are going crazy, and just don’t know what to do," he added.
The Virginia gubernatorial race is shaping up to be a closely contested battle, with both Earle-Sears and Spanberger vying for the support of voters. The outcome of the election will have significant implications for the state’s political landscape.
