The lyrics have been widely interpreted as a thinly veiled reference to her relationship with Piqué, whom she accused of infidelity. The couple share two children together, and their breakup was met with widespread media attention and speculation.

In 2018, the singer was accused of tax fraud amounting to approximately €14.5 million (between 2011 and 2014).
