Samsung’s Android 15 Update (One UI 7): Everything You Need to Know

After a considerable wait, Samsung has officially launched its Android 15 update, branded as One UI 7. This update brings a significant redesign, incorporating new features and improvements to enhance the user experience on Galaxy devices. This article provides a comprehensive overview of Samsung’s Android 15 update, including the devices that have received the update, the rollout schedule, and the key changes introduced.

One UI 7: A Major Overhaul

While Android 15 itself may not be a groundbreaking update, Samsung is leveraging it to fundamentally reshape the experience of using a Galaxy device. One UI 7 represents a major overhaul of the company’s Android skin, introducing several notable changes to the user interface and functionality.

Redesigned Quick Panel:

One of the most prominent changes is the redesigned Quick Panel, which is now separated from the notifications panel. This split provides more space for setting toggles, resulting in a cleaner and more organized overall look. The new Quick Panel is enabled by default, but users have the option to revert to the original design if they prefer.

Vertical App Drawer:

The app drawer now scrolls vertically, aligning with the user experience on Pixel devices and many other Android phones. This change provides a more consistent and intuitive navigation experience for users familiar with other Android devices.

Enhanced Customization:

One UI 7 introduces expanded customization options for app icons and large folders on the homescreen. This allows users to personalize their devices further and create a more tailored home screen layout.

Redesigned Multitasking UI:

The multitasking UI has undergone a significant redesign, incorporating blur effects throughout the system. This creates a more visually appealing and modern multitasking experience.

"Now Bar" and Live Notifications:

The "Now Bar" and Live Notifications features function similarly to Live Activities on iPhone, providing real-time information and updates from apps directly on the lock screen or notification shade.

These are just some of the key changes included in One UI 7. The update encompasses a wide range of improvements and refinements designed to enhance the overall user experience on Galaxy devices.
