The farm’s California operation has been particularly hard-hit, forcing it to rely on its South Dakota sister farm to fulfill the generous egg donation.
A Lifeline for Disaster Victims
Despite facing its own challenges, Rosemary Farm has remained steadfast in its commitment to helping those in need. The 324,000 donated eggs will be distributed through the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Gather For Good, an organization that empowers the food service industry to prepare meals for first responders and vulnerable populations. The food bank will distribute 270,000 eggs to families affected by the wildfires, while Gather For Good will receive 54,000 eggs for its meal preparation efforts. Winter Fate Bakes, a local bakery, will also utilize the donated eggs to bake birthday cakes for children displaced by the fires.

According to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, a dozen eggs cost an average of $4.95 in January 2023, a significant increase from $2.52 in January 2022.
