Rhein-Neckar Löwen Secure Swedish National Player Edwin Aspenbäck for the Upcoming Season
Ludwigshafen, Germany (February 26, 2023) – The Rhein-Neckar Löwen have announced the signing of Swedish handball national team player Edwin Aspenbäck for the upcoming season. The 24-year-old joins the Bundesliga club from Danish outfit TTH Holstebro, as confirmed by the German side. In a corresponding move, Jon Lindenchrone will depart the Löwen, with the Danish player’s contract being terminated early on July 1, 2025. "Unfortunately, he did not receive the playing time he had hoped for," said sporting director Uwe Gensheimer.
Aspenbäck, who featured in every match for Sweden at the recent World Championship, is set to fill the right back position in his new team. "Edwin has developed very well, especially in the past season, made his debut in the national team, and has now gained his first experience at the highest international level at the World Championship," said Gensheimer. The duration of his contract remains undisclosed at this time.
