Reality Star Teddi Mellencamp Undergoes Surgery for Multiple Brain Tumors
Teddi Mellencamp, the former star of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," has been hospitalized and underwent surgery after doctors discovered multiple tumors on her brain. The reality star had been suffering from severe and debilitating headaches for several weeks before seeking medical advice.
After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors on Mellencamp’s brain, which they believe have been growing for at least six months. Two of the tumors, which were determined to be non-cancerous, were surgically removed on Wednesday, while the remaining smaller tumors will be treated with radiation at a later date.
"Yesterday the pain was unbearable and required hospitalization," Mellencamp wrote in an Instagram post. "After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors on my brain, which they believe have been growing for at least 6 months."
Mellencamp, 43, shaved her head before the surgery. "I didn’t have this look on my bucket list," she said as a friend helped shear her hair.
The reality star expressed gratitude to her "children, family, friends, doctors, nurses, and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health." She also thanked everyone who had reached out and supported her on her journey.
In a separate Instagram story, Mellencamp wrote of her father, John Mellencamp, "As my dad said this am, God only gives hard stuff to those of us who can handle it. It’s a hard day, but I have faith and amazing surgeons and know everything will be okay."
Mellencamp’s representative confirmed the news to Fox News Digital and provided an update on her condition.
"Teddi is resting comfortably after surgery today to remove two of the tumors," the statement said. "The surgery went well, and doctors are optimistic that she will make a full recovery. Teddi is grateful for all the love and support she has received from her family, friends, and fans."
Mellencamp’s diagnosis and surgery have shocked the reality TV community and beyond. Many of her former "Real Housewives" castmates have expressed their support and prayers for her recovery.
Kyle Richards, who starred alongside Mellencamp on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," posted an Instagram message saying, "Thinking of you, Teddi. Sending you so much love and healing energy."
Lisa Rinna, another former "Real Housewives" star, wrote, "Sending you all my love and prayers, Teddi. You are a warrior."
