Peppa Pig Theme Park Arrives in Dallas/Fort Worth: A First Theme Park Experience for Preschoolers

Peppa Pig has officially landed in North Texas! Peppa Pig Theme Park Dallas/Fort Worth opened its gates, offering a vibrant and immersive experience designed specifically for families with young children. While the park welcomes everyone, its core focus is providing a memorable "first theme park" adventure for preschoolers and toddlers.

Located in North Richland Hills, northeast of Fort Worth, the new park is a venture by Merlin Entertainments, the parent company behind LEGOLAND resorts, Madame Tussauds, and other global attractions. This is not Merlin’s first foray into the North Texas entertainment scene; the company already operates a LEGOLAND Discovery Center, a Sea Life Aquarium, and an indoor Peppa Pig World of Play in nearby Grapevine. The Peppa Pig World of Play is considered a precursor to the theme park experience, offering a taste of the Peppa Pig universe in a smaller, indoor setting.

The grand opening marks the third Peppa Pig Theme Park globally, joining its sister parks in Central Florida and Günzburg, Germany. Fiona Eastwood, CEO of Merlin, expressed her hope that families will create "memories of a lifetime" at the Texas location.

Designed for Little Ones: Gentle Thrills and Familiar Faces

The park’s design centers around creating a safe, engaging, and age-appropriate environment for its target audience. With five gentle rides and nine distinct play areas, all attractions are tailored to children aged six and under. Julie Estrada, a spokesperson for Merlin Entertainments, highlighted the unique offering of the park: a place where young children can experience the excitement of a theme park for the first time without being overwhelmed or scared.

"There really aren’t theme parks for those that want to experience their first theme park experience, that have those pink-knuckle roller coasters where you’re just excited enough, you’re not scared, you’re not terrified," Estrada explained. "It’s a gentle ride experience where you are experiencing it for the first time with your family."

Grown-ups are, of course, encouraged to join in the fun and ride alongside their children, creating shared memories and fostering a sense of adventure. The park also offers opportunities to meet Peppa Pig herself, attend live shows at Mr. Potato’s Showtime Arena, and watch episodes of the beloved Peppa Pig TV show in the park’s indoor cinema.

Stepping into the park is like stepping directly into the world of Peppa Pig. The familiar characters, vibrant colors, and recognizable scenes from the show come to life, creating an immersive and engaging experience for young fans.

Texas Twist: Adapting to the Local Climate

While the Peppa Pig Theme Park Dallas/Fort Worth shares many of the same attractions and entertainment offerings as its sister park in Florida, there are a few key differences tailored to the Texas climate. One notable adaptation is the indoor location of Peppa’s Pedal Bike Tour and Georgia’s Tricycle Trail, the bicycle and tricycle riding area.

"Which is great because it can be cold sometimes, and it can be hot at some points, so if you want to get in and enjoy the air conditioning, if you want to get out of the elements from outside, then you can go there," Estrada noted. This indoor design allows families to enjoy the activity regardless of the weather conditions, providing a comfortable and enjoyable experience year-round.

Another Texas-specific feature is Mrs. Cow’s Milkshake Shack, a standalone establishment serving the popular Muddy Puddle Milkshakes, a fan favorite in Florida.

Accessibility and Inclusion: A Welcoming Environment for All

Merlin Entertainments is committed to providing inclusive experiences for all families, including those with disabilities and sensory sensitivities. Guests can access the park’s online accessibility and sensory guide and sensory placards located at each attraction to identify the experiences that best suit their needs. The park also offers quiet spaces for sensory breaks, providing a calm and comfortable environment for those who need it.

Peppa Pig Theme Park Dallas/Fort Worth, along with Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida and all three U.S. LEGOLAND resorts, has been certified by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards as a Certified Autism Center.

"Merlin Entertainments is dedicated to providing safe, inclusive and engaging experiences for all families," said Jeremy Aguillen, the park’s General Manager.

Expanding Entertainment Options in North Texas

The arrival of Peppa Pig Theme Park Dallas/Fort Worth further enriches the entertainment landscape of North Texas. Merlin Entertainments has expressed excitement about the opportunity to contribute to the growing and vibrant community.

Furthermore, Universal is also developing a family-focused Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, Texas, signaling a growing trend towards providing more entertainment options for families with young children in the region.

Tickets and Location

Single-day admission to Peppa Pig Theme Park Dallas/Fort Worth starts at $27.99. Annual passes are available for $99.99 per person and cover admission to both the theme park and Peppa Pig World of Play Dallas.

The park is located at 8851 26 Blvd. in North Richland Hills, Texas.
