Miroslav Klose Keeps Nuremberg Focused Amidst Turmoil

Miroslav Klose, manager of 1. FC Nuremberg, is determined to keep his team’s focus on the upcoming match against SSV Ulm despite the recent turmoil surrounding the club. The departure of sporting director Olaf Rebbe and the potential transfer of striker Mahor Emreli have created distractions, but Klose is adamant about maintaining the team’s concentration.

"This is the business, this is football," said Klose. "What I can control is on the training ground. And now we have a crucial game, so that’s where my focus is."

Nuremberg has collected nine points from their last four matches and is looking to continue their climb up the table against Ulm, who are second from bottom in the league. "I want to win," said Klose.

Emreli will not be available for the match, as he has expressed his desire to leave the club. "We know that there are interested parties who want him," said Klose. "Now we have to see how we can reach an agreement."

Emreli’s proposed destination is FC Seoul in South Korea. "I think we don’t have to make a secret of it, it’s the financial aspect for him," said Klose. "He wants to take the next step, he sees it as an opportunity. He has communicated that. But nothing is official yet. It has to be signed."

"As long as the transfer window is open, anything can happen," said Klose regarding the potential departure of another player, following the recent departure of defender Finn Jeltsch. "But I know I have players who can step up," he added confidently.

Rebbe’s Departure and Its Impact

Rebbe’s departure has been a significant blow to Nuremberg, as he had been a key figure in the club’s recent successes. However, Klose is determined to ensure that the team remains unaffected.

"It’s not easy to replace someone like Olaf Rebbe," said Klose. "But we have to move on. We have a team, we have a goal, and we have to work together to achieve it."

Nuremberg is currently in 12th place in the league, but they are only four points behind the promotion playoff places. Klose believes that his team has the quality to challenge for a place in the top six.

"We have a good team," said Klose. "We have shown in recent matches that we can compete with anyone in this league. I believe that we can achieve our goals if we stay focused and work hard."

Emreli’s Transfer Request

Emreli has been one of Nuremberg’s most important players this season, scoring seven goals in 18 appearances. However, he has now expressed his desire to leave the club in search of a more lucrative contract.

Klose is disappointed to lose Emreli, but he understands the player’s ambitions. "Mahor is a good player, and he has a lot of potential," said Klose. "I wish him all the best for the future."

Nuremberg will have to find a replacement for Emreli, but Klose is confident that he has the players in his squad to do so. "We have other players who can step up," he said. "We have a strong team, and we will continue to fight for our goals."
