The renowned Karl May Spiele in Bad Segeberg is casting a wide net in search of a legion of dedicated extras to bring the thrilling tale of "Half-Blood" to life on stage. With 72 captivating performances scheduled this summer, the production is inviting individuals aged 18 and above who possess athleticism, enthusiasm, and unwavering commitment to join the vibrant ensemble.

"Our Firwood Camp will transform into a bustling Western town teeming with extras embodying diverse characters," enthuses Ute Thienel, Managing Director of Kalkberg GmbH. "From rugged laborers toiling on a vast railroad construction site to valiant Southern soldiers, graceful Squaws to fierce Comanche warriors, and elegant ladies and gentlemen gracing a grand celebration, we seek a myriad of personalities to immerse our audience in the rich tapestry of this Western epic."
Casting Call: A Diverse Ensemble
The grand spectacle of "Half-Blood" will feature a seasoned cast of eleven Schauspielers, twelve equestrian extras, ten skilled stunt performers, and the sought-after contingent of 35 extras. Aspiring participants can submit their applications by March 9th via an online questionnaire accessible at www.karl-may-spiele.de.
Intensive Rehearsals and Memorable Performances
Under the expert guidance of director Nicolas König, rehearsals will commence on May 26th, with the extras joining the cast on May 30th. The five-week rehearsal period will demand daily dedication, with evening sessions on weekdays and extended hours on weekends. The electrifying premiere is set for June 28th, heralding the start of an unforgettable performance run until September 7th. Each week, the actors and extras will take to the stage from Thursday to Saturday, captivating audiences with two captivating performances at 3 pm and 8 pm. On Sundays, the spectacle will unfold solely at 3 pm.
The majestic Kalkbergarena boasts a seating capacity of up to 7,700 spectators, promising an unforgettable experience for attendees. Last year’s production of "Winnetou II – Ribanna and Old Firehand" soared to unprecedented heights, welcoming a record-breaking 445,000 visitors.
