Jennie Garth Ready to Leave “90210” Roots for a Greener Pasture

Jennie Garth Eager to Leave Los Angeles, Embracing Nature-Driven Lifestyle

Beverly Hills, 90210 star Jennie Garth yearns to escape the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles, expressing her desire to relocate to a more serene and nature-immersed setting.

Motivations for Departure

Garth clarifies that the recent Pacific Palisades and Altadena Fires are not the primary drivers behind her decision to leave the city. During the Eaton Fire, Garth and her husband, Dave Abrams, evacuated their Altadena home, temporarily residing with her ex-husband, Peter Facinelli. Fortunately, their home escaped the flames unscathed.

Longstanding Desire for a Change

Garth emphasizes that her aspiration to relocate has been present for a considerable time, irrespective of the recent fire events.

"I’ve always wanted to move out of L.A. I mean, fires or no fires. I’m ready to move out of L.A. I’ve always been chomping at the bit," she declares.

Pandemic Work Flexibility Facilitates Relocation

Garth’s work primarily revolves around her iHeart podcast, I Choose Me, centered on self-care and self-love. She also manages meetings, press, and her clothing brand remotely, granting her the flexibility to work from anywhere.

"So right now, it’s a matter of getting my senior daughter graduated, and then my husband settled into a rhythm with his new bar that he can leave town a few days a week and I can be gone," she explains.

Nostalgia for Nature and Rural Roots

Garth’s desire to move out of Los Angeles stems from a deep appreciation for nature and her upbringing in rural Illinois. She envisions relocating to an area surrounded by trees and devoid of the urban sprawl.

"I really love L.A. I’ve always had, like, a love-hate [relationship] with L.A. I hate the traffic. I’m not fond of all the people. Too many people for my preference, but I love it. It’s so beautiful, and it’s just so magical and creative. And the beauty is one of the things that has kept me here and the different variations of landscape here," Garth shares.

Garth is drawn to the mountains and trees of Whitefish, Montana, and Colorado, which offer a stark contrast to the urbanity of Los Angeles.

Midwestern Values and Sustainable Lifestyle

Garth’s Midwestern upbringing has instilled in her values of self-reliance and frugality. She grew up on a horse farm, where she learned the importance of hard work and practical skills.

"I think a lot of people definitely don’t associate me with a Midwestern lifestyle," she says. "They think Beverly Hills, which is not me at all."

Garth believes in living below her means and contributing to the well-being of her family.

Balancing Family and Career Goals

Garth has three children with her ex-husband: Luca, Lola, and Fiona. She is currently focused on ensuring her senior daughter’s graduation and supporting her husband’s new bar venture before fully embracing her relocation plans.

"So I really love L.A. I’ve always had, like, a love-hate [relationship] with L.A. I hate the traffic. I’m not fond of all the people. Too many people for my preference, but I love it. It’s so beautiful, and it’s just so magical and creative. And the beauty is one of the things that has kept me here and the different variations of landscape here," Garth continued.

While Garth cherishes the beauty and creative energy of Los Angeles, she ultimately longs to immerse herself in a more natural and tranquil environment, where she can embrace her Midwestern values and raise her family in a setting that fosters a deep connection to the land.
