ING Germany to Establish New Frankfurt Headquarters, Enhancing Frankfurt’s Financial Status

Frankfurt, Germany – ING Germany, a leading direct bank, has announced its decision to maintain its presence in Frankfurt by leasing a new headquarters in close proximity to the European Central Bank (ECB). The long-term lease agreement with the B&L Group will provide ING Germany with 32,000 square meters of state-of-the-art office space, catering to the needs of its over 3,000 employees.

Modern Workspaces and Environment

The new ING headquarters, scheduled for completion in 2028, will offer modern and spacious work environments, fostering collaboration and innovation. The building will feature large open workspaces, providing ample room for team-based projects and knowledge sharing. The modern design and amenities will create a dynamic and inspiring workspace for ING’s employees.

Strategic Location near ECB

Strategically located on the banks of the Main River, the new headquarters will sit slightly outside of Frankfurt’s traditional banking district, yet within close proximity to the ECB. This location provides the bank with easy access to key financial institutions and regulatory bodies, enhancing its integration into Frankfurt’s financial ecosystem.

Towering Presence but Measured Approach

With 16 stories, ING’s new headquarters will maintain a visible presence on Frankfurt’s skyline, yet remain modest in height compared to the towering skyscrapers of Commerzbank, Deutsche Bank, and the Sparkassengruppe. This measured approach reflects ING’s commitment to balancing its ambitions with a responsible approach to urban development.

Long History in Frankfurt

ING Germany, a subsidiary of the Dutch ING Group, has been headquartered in Frankfurt since 1965, making it one of the city’s long-established financial institutions. With nearly 10 million customers, ING Germany is a major provider of financial services for private individuals in Germany, contributing to Frankfurt’s reputation as a hub for financial activity.

Boost for Frankfurt’s Financial Sector

ING Germany’s decision to invest in a new headquarters in Frankfurt underscores the city’s enduring appeal as a leading financial center. The bank’s commitment to Frankfurt further strengthens the city’s position as a global hub for banking and finance. The new headquarters will not only provide a modern and efficient workplace for ING employees but also serve as a symbol of Frankfurt’s continued growth and dynamism in the financial sector.
