Rep. Anna Paulina Luna to Lead Explosive Panel Investigating Government Secrets
Seven House Republicans have been appointed to a new task force dedicated to evaluating the declassification of some of the United States’ most enigmatic secrets. The Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets will operate under the auspices of the House Oversight Committee, chaired by Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.).
Conservative Wing Takes Reins of Investigation
The composition of the task force signals that House GOP leaders are empowering the conference’s conservative wing to spearhead this investigation. In addition to its chair, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.), the panel includes members of the House Freedom Caucus, a group known for its strident opposition to government overreach. Among these members are Reps. Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.), who has gained attention for her vocal stance on cultural issues, is also part of the task force. Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.), a frequent collaborator with Luna on matters related to unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs), and first-term Rep. Brandon Gill (R-Texas) round out the panel.

The task force’s mandate encompasses a wide range of classified information, including the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Jeffrey Epstein’s client list, COVID-19, UAPs, and the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Luna has emphasized the importance of transparency in the task force’s mission statement. "We have assembled a team of dedicated leaders who have consistently fought for transparency and full disclosure," she declared. "Our mission is simple: to ensure these documents are released swiftly and in their entirety, giving the American people the truth they deserve."
Comer echoed Luna’s commitment to transparency, stating, "Ensuring government transparency for the American people is a core mission of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The Republicans on Rep. Luna’s task force are steadfast champions of transparency, and I am confident they will vigorously pursue and deliver the truth on critical issues."

Burlison wrote on social media that "A Government cloaked in secrecy has been a tool for control." Mace similarly tweeted, "Bad day to be a classified government secret."
