He revealed that his go-to pre-concert food is boiled eggs, prepared with a touch of culinary flair. "I just boil, usually, about three or four eggs, and I just let them sit in soy sauce and rice wine vinegar, a bit of mirin maybe," he shared. He considers this simple yet effective snack "an instant sort of jolt," providing him with the energy he needs to deliver a captivating performance. "I’m a three-egg kind of guy," he added.

The transition from rock star to culinary host may seem unexpected to some, but Rossdale’s passion for cooking is deeply rooted in his personal experiences. He remains humble about his abilities, describing his cooking skills as a "little secret superpower." "I’ve put a plate of food together – and people like it," he said simply. He shared an anecdote about recently preparing chicken tacos for fellow musicians Brent Smith, the lead singer of Shinedown, and Morgan Wade. He demonstrated his understanding of flavor and texture, explaining his approach to preparing the red cabbage. "I knew that with red cabbage, it’s too crunchy," he said. "So, you’ve got to put vinegar. You’ve got to kill that. You’ve got to macerate that. You’ve got to make it soft."

Despite his efforts to create a delicious meal, Rossdale emphasized that his approach to cooking is uncomplicated and straightforward. "It was really basic and nothing complicated," he confessed. "I didn’t reinvent any wheels. And I’m not going to get any prizes, and no one’s going to get me in their Hall of Fame for that. But they liked it."
