Today, Frukas are lovingly crafted at the Delitzscher Schokoladenfabrik in Saxony, where a dedicated team of 20 tirelessly ensures their production. Their nostalgic packaging, a testament to their enduring charm, has remained largely unchanged over the decades.

Embracing the spirit of sustainability, Frukas’ packaging has undergone a transformation. Aluminum has been replaced with paper, resulting in a remarkable reduction of 20 tons of aluminum waste annually.

Each classic Fruka flavor evokes a sense of nostalgia, recalling school days, doctor’s visits, bakery treats, and of course, the revelry of Carnival. The beloved quartet of Cherry, Raspberry, Lemon, and Orange has withstood the test of time. Cherry reigns supreme as the undisputed favorite, closely followed by Raspberry. While occasional forays into the realm of sour flavors, such as Cola, have been made, Frukas remains steadfastly committed to its traditional taste experience.

Evolution in the Making

Despite their iconic status, the Frukas recipe is not immune to change. Vegetarian consumers are increasingly demanding plant-based alternatives, and Frukas is actively exploring options to meet this growing need.

Carnival Season Preparations

The countdown to Carnival begins in earnest around December as orders for Frukas surge. To ensure their timely arrival for the festivities, the company produces approximately 1,000 tons of Frukas annually, a staggering 300 million individual candies.

Each Fruka weighs a mere 2.8 grams, but collectively, they add up to an impressive weight equivalent to 200 adult elephants. Stacked end to end, the annual Frukas production would create a colossal tower stretching 3,500 kilometers towards the heavens.
