Theft of Luxury Vehicles at Miami Quarterback’s Residence
Arrest in Burglary Case
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office has announced an arrest in the burglary case involving the theft of three luxury vehicles from the residence of University of Miami quarterback Carson Beck. Tykwon DeAndre Anderson, 20, of Miami Gardens, Florida, was taken into custody on Thursday afternoon.
Felony Charges
Anderson faces three felony charges related to burglary of an occupied dwelling and grand theft auto, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by USA TODAY Sports.
Details of the Incident
Police allege that Anderson and three unknown male co-defendants arrived at Beck’s residence around 2:45 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2023. Two men jumped over a concrete fence to gain access to the driveway area.
Beck’s red 2023 Lamborghini Urus was parked in the garage, while his silver 2023 Mercedes-Benz E635 and a white 2025 Range Rover belonging to Beck’s girlfriend, Hanna Cavinder, were parked in the driveway.
One co-defendant allegedly broke into the Range Rover and obtained the garage door opener, which was used to enter Beck’s house and locate the keys for the vehicles.
Anderson admitted to stealing Beck’s Lamborghini from the garage, while the Mercedes and Range Rover were stolen from the driveway at the same time.
Investigation and Arrest
The Range Rover was later abandoned on a nearby street, and the Mercedes was recovered by police on Thursday afternoon.
Police used the license plate of the rental vehicle used to transport the suspects to identify Anderson. Tracking data from the Mercedes-Benz also placed the vehicle at Beck’s house at the time of the burglary.
Anderson was arrested while driving the rental vehicle, and he offered a full confession to the police.
Ongoing Investigation
The other three suspects remain at large, and the stolen red Lamborghini has not yet been recovered. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the case.
Beck’s Transfer to Miami
Beck announced his transfer to Miami in January 2023 for his final year of NCAA eligibility. He underwent season-ending elbow surgery in December 2022 and missed Georgia’s College Football Playoff run.
Cavinder’s Basketball Career
Hanna Cavinder has started all 26 Miami women’s basketball games during her final college season alongside her twin sister, Haley, who is the team’s leading scorer. Both sisters opted out of playing college basketball last year after transferring from Fresno State to Miami ahead of the 2022-23 season.
Cavinder’s Social Media Influence
The Cavinder sisters have a large social media following, which has led to millions of dollars in NIL (name, image, and likeness) deals from brands such as Under Armour and WWE.
