According to the survey, the percentage of companies facing shortages of qualified labor has decreased from 31.9% in October to 28.3%.

Ifo economist Klaus Wohlrabe attributed the decline to the current economic slowdown but emphasized that the long-term demographic challenges remain significant. "Over the long term, the shortage of skilled labor will again intensify," Wohlrabe stated.

The hospitality industry is also affected, with around 42% of businesses facing labor shortages.
