Dynamo Dresden Aiming for Ost-Duell Hat-Trick in Rostock

Ahead of Dynamo Dresden’s crunch clash with bitter rivals FC Hansa Rostock on Saturday, coach Thomas Stamm couldn’t resist a hint of satisfaction. A psychological trick implemented during the winter break had apparently paid dividends, particularly in the team’s recent derby encounters.

With a spotless record against Erzgebirge Aue and Energie Cottbus in high-stakes matches, Dynamo are eager to extend their Ost-Duell dominance in Rostock.

"It’s all about how I can manage to stay calm mentally," Stamm explained. "Whether it’s extreme positive or negative emotions, or my own performance that affects me, how do I find a way to stay composed when things get tough, uncomfortable, or even overly enjoyable?"

The coach remained tight-lipped about the specific details of the strategy, but hinted at a form of team building in the broadest sense.

"It was something where everyone could take something away for themselves, both on and off the pitch, if they wanted to," Stamm said.

In anticipation of his debut at Rostock’s Ostseestadtion, Stamm expressed a blend of excitement and wariness.

"It’s going to be a heated game because the opponent will come with a lot of force and emotion," he predicted. "Regardless of their 0-5 loss in Mannheim last Saturday, Hansa is a team that will prepare meticulously for this match and will be determined to make amends."

Stamm emphasized that Hansa’s recent form was not a reliable indicator of their capabilities.

"They have a clear plan and are a very focused team," he said. "We need to be prepared for a physical and emotional battle."

Despite the formidable challenge, Dynamo remain confident in their ability to secure a positive result. The team’s recent resurgence, which has seen them climb to 12th in the 2. Bundesliga, has instilled a sense of belief within the squad.

"We’re in a good position right now," Stamm said. "The team has improved a lot in recent weeks, and we’re ready for this match."

With the Ost-Duell rivalry reaching fever pitch, Stamm knows that the atmosphere on Saturday will be electric.

"It’s going to be a special match for both teams," he said. "The fans will be passionate, and the intensity will be high. We’re looking forward to the challenge."
