Chilean Thieves Pose with Stolen Items from Joe Burrow’s Home

Burglary at Cincinnati Bengals Star’s Residence

Three Chilean men accused of breaking into Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow’s home have been apprehended by authorities. A recently filed federal criminal complaint reveals that the suspects took photos posing with some of the stolen items.

The complaint alleges that the men nabbed a jeweled necklace engraved with "JB9" adorned with a Nike swoosh and a diamond "9" necklace. These luxury items were visible in a selfie taken by the suspects. Burrow, a two-time Pro Bowler, wore jersey number 9 during his collegiate career at LSU and still sports the same number with the Bengals.

A separate photo presented as evidence depicts multiple pieces of stolen jewelry laid out on a table. The FBI complaint further details that Jordan Francisco Quiroga Sanchez (22), Bastian Alejandro Orellana Morales (23), and Sergio Andres Ortega Cabello (38), all hailing from Chile, were apprehended by Ohio State Patrol officers after authorities meticulously tracked their movements across several states following the burglary.

Bengals Express Gratitude for Law Enforcement Efforts

In an official statement, the Cincinnati Bengals expressed their appreciation for the efforts of law enforcement authorities. They commended the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department and its partners at the local, state, and federal levels for their exceptional work investigating the crime and bringing the perpetrators to justice.

The Bengals acknowledged the extensive and intricate investigative tasks involved in bringing about the indictments, highlighting the exemplary conduct of the Sheriff’s Department throughout the process. The team emphasized its decades-long collaboration with the Sheriff’s Department and recognized their pivotal role in safeguarding the community.

Suspects Linked to South American Theft Groups

The men, suspected of entering the country illegally, were found in possession of tools commonly used in break-ins, including a Bengals hat and a Louisiana State University shirt believed to be stolen from Burrow’s home.

According to the complaint, the robbery exhibited patterns consistent with other burglaries perpetrated by South American theft groups across the United States. These groups typically comprise South Americans who illegally enter the country or overstay their visas. Their primary targets are jewelry and designer accessories.

Burrow Expresses Violation of Privacy

Burrow was away at a game against the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, Texas, when his home was broken into. Olivia Ponton, a model and social media influencer identified as Burrow’s employee, was present at the residence during the incident. No injuries were reported during the break-in.

A few days after the burglary, Burrow broke his silence, expressing his sense of violation. He acknowledged the widespread public knowledge about the incident and lamented the invasion of his privacy. Burrow declined to disclose further details beyond his initial statement.
