According to police reports, the fire started around midnight on a balcony of the building, engulfing a mattress and quickly spreading to the surrounding area. The cause of the initial ignition is still under investigation.
A resident attempted to extinguish the flames using a fire extinguisher, but the blaze proved too intense. The balcony was completely destroyed, and the flames partially spread into the adjacent living room.
