Alec and Hilaria Baldwin Rule Out Expanding Their Large Family Despite Baby Fever Pangs

Alec and Hilaria Baldwin on Family Expansion: "Baby No. 9 Likely Won’t Be Coming Any Time Soon"

In a candid interview with People magazine, Hilaria Baldwin, wife of actor Alec Baldwin, revealed that she is not eager to expand their already large family. With seven children under the age of 11, Hilaria expressed her contentment with their current family size.

"He’s always asking me for more kids," said Hilaria Baldwin, 41, referring to her husband. Alec Baldwin, 66, interjected, "Don’t judge me."

The couple currently share six children: Carmen, 11; Rafael, 9; Leonardo, 8; Romeo, 6; Eduardo and Marilu, 4; and Ilaria, 2. Alec Baldwin also has a 29-year-old daughter, Ireland Baldwin, from his previous marriage to Kim Basinger.

While Alec Baldwin confessed to occasionally experiencing baby fever, Hilaria remained steadfast in her decision. "I don’t really want one," she said. However, she acknowledged the appeal of infants. "They’re so cute," she admitted. "But my body’s really tired."

The Baldwins are currently promoting their new TLC reality show, "The Baldwins," which will premiere later this month. The show follows the family’s daily lives and offers glimpses into their unique dynamic.

‘The Baldwins’: A First Look and the Shadow of ‘Rust’

The first look at "The Baldwins," released last month, reveals the chaotic and heartwarming reality of raising a large family. However, the trailer also takes a somber turn as it delves into the events surrounding the tragic "Rust" shooting.

In October 2021, a gun held by Alec Baldwin on the set of the Western film "Rust" discharged, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. The incident has cast a long shadow over the Baldwin family and continues to be the subject of ongoing legal proceedings.

Armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to 18 months in prison in April. Alec Baldwin was also charged with involuntary manslaughter, but the case was abruptly dismissed in July due to allegations that prosecutors and law enforcement withheld evidence.

Alec Baldwin’s Civil Lawsuit and Allegations of Prosecutorial Misconduct

In August, Alec Baldwin filed a civil lawsuit in Santa Fe County District Court, alleging that prosecutors violated his civil rights and defamed him during the "Rust" investigation. The lawsuit claims that the prosecutors withheld evidence and made false statements to the media, which damaged Baldwin’s reputation and career.

The legal battle surrounding the "Rust" shooting is expected to continue, with both the prosecution and Alec Baldwin’s defense team appealing the dismissals of their cases.

The Baldwins’ Ongoing Commitment to Family and Public Life

Despite the challenges they have faced, Alec and Hilaria Baldwin remain committed to their family and their public lives. They hope that their reality show, "The Baldwins," will provide viewers with an authentic look into their family’s joys and struggles.

"We wanted to do a reality show that captures everything," said Hilaria Baldwin. "The good, the bad, the ugly, the heartbreaking, the heartwarming—it’s all in there."

As the Baldwins navigate life in the public eye, they are determined to maintain a balance between their family’s privacy and their commitment to transparency.
