Highway 9 Closed Due to Overturned Truck Carrying Limited Hazardous Materials
Eisenberg, Germany – A section of Highway 9 near Eisenberg was temporarily closed this morning after a truck overturned, initially raising concerns about hazardous materials. According to police reports, the incident occurred in the early hours in the direction towards Munich.
The truck, which was initially believed to be transporting hazardous materials, overturned onto its left side and came to a stop on the emergency lane. The cause of the accident remains under investigation. The 54-year-old driver was injured and transported to a local hospital.
The accident site was cordoned off for an extensive area as authorities assessed the situation. Initial reports suggested that the truck was carrying various hazardous substances, but further investigations revealed that the cargo consisted solely of:

The fire department conducted a thorough inspection and ruled out any leaks or hazardous exposure to emergency personnel. It was determined that the semi-trailer did not meet the criteria for classification as a Gefahrguttransport (hazardous materials transport) under applicable regulations.
The lane towards Berlin was reopened approximately one hour after the incident. Traffic in the direction towards Munich is currently being diverted through a single lane at the accident site, as the truck is being unloaded and removed.
Authorities emphasized that there was no danger to the public at any point during the incident. The necessary precautions were taken to ensure the safety of emergency personnel and prevent any potential hazards.
