Würzburg, Germany – The deadly accident involving a track worker on an ICE railway line in Lower Franconia was the result of the victim’s own negligence, according to investigators. The high-speed train was traveling on a track adjacent to the construction site that had been cleared for rail traffic. Investigators believe that the victim moved into this area "without operational necessity." The approximately 100 passengers on the train, which was traveling from Munich to Hamburg, were unharmed.
An autopsy of the victim’s body revealed no evidence of a cause of death other than the collision.
