Brooklyn Beckham Discusses Bond with David Beckham Over Racing Amidst Family Tension Rumors

Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, has spoken about his shared passion for racing with his father, amidst ongoing speculation regarding potential family friction. In an interview with the Sunday Times, conducted in March and published in May, the 26-year-old highlighted his father’s influence in nurturing his early love for motorsports. Brooklyn was speaking about his experience at the Formula E Evo Sessions in Miami, which took place at the Miami International Autodrome.

"It’s something that me and my dad bonded over," Brooklyn shared, emphasizing the connection forged through their mutual interest in cars and racing. He further added, "My dad’s had some pretty cool cars," indicating the impressive collection David Beckham has amassed over the years. Brooklyn later revealed that he also has his own collection of cars, with a 1954 Jaguar holding a special place in his heart. "It’s a 1954 Jaguar, which I very rarely drive, only when the weather’s perfect," he explained, highlighting the value and care he places on the classic vehicle.

Brooklyn’s attendance at the Formula E Evo Sessions in March presented him with the opportunity to drive the Jaguar I-Type 7. The event brought together 11 individuals from the realms of sports, entertainment, and technology, granting them the unique chance to experience the thrill of driving the world’s fastest electronic race car. This experience seems to have further strengthened his bond with his father through their shared passion.

The recent comments from the younger Beckham come against a backdrop of swirling rumors about a rift within the Beckham family. Notably, Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz-Beckham, were absent from David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebrations earlier this month.

Victoria Beckham shared numerous photos from the birthday festivities, prominently featuring their three younger children, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13. The caption accompanying the post read, "Creating special memories with family and friends. We love you all." This absence from the event has once again fueled speculation about a potential feud between the couple and Brooklyn’s parents.

A source reportedly told People this month that "There are tensions between Brooklyn and [wife] Nicola [Peltz] and the family." The insider continued, "The relationship is definitely not beyond repair. They love and are always there for him. They’re just hurt and disappointed that he’s now playing no part in family life."

Rumors of a feud between Victoria and Nicola initially surfaced shortly after Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding in April 2022. Social media users noticed Nicola’s apparent lack of posts featuring the Beckham family, which ignited speculation about underlying issues. The speculation intensified when it was revealed that Peltz-Beckham did not wear a wedding dress designed by Victoria Beckham.

Adding to the speculation, Nicola Peltz-Beckham was also noticeably absent from Victoria’s 50th birthday party. Instead, she chose to visit her grandmother. Despite this, she did publicly acknowledge her mother-in-law’s birthday with a post on Instagram.

Both Brooklyn and Nicola have consistently denied the existence of any feud. In a March 2023 interview with Cosmopolitan, Nicola stated, "I’ve said this so many times: There’s no feud. I don’t know. No one ever wants to write the nice things." She continued, "It’s really weird, actually, whether it’s my life or someone else’s life or whatever, when you know the truth, and then you read something totally wrong."

Brooklyn and Nicola reportedly began their relationship in 2019, officially confirming their status in January 2020 with a mirror selfie posted on Instagram. A few months later, in June 2020, they announced their engagement.

During an appearance on "The Late Late Show With James Corden" in February 2022, Brooklyn discussed the proposal, describing the experience as "a little bit nerve-wracking." He explained, "I proposed in the countryside in New York in Bedford. I filled [the gazebo] with a bunch of flowers – her favorite flower is peonies – a bunch of peonies flowers, candles, her favorite wine, some caviar." He added, "I had the ring up there; it was hiding behind some flowers. It was an amazing view of this huge river."

Despite the couple’s insistence that there is no animosity between them and the Beckham family, the rumors persist, fueled by their apparent distance from family events and the social media activity, or lack thereof, surrounding these events. Brooklyn’s recent comments about bonding with his father over their shared love of racing provide a glimpse into a positive aspect of their relationship. However, the ongoing speculation about family tension serves as a reminder that relationships, even within famous families, can be complex and subject to public scrutiny. The truth of the matter remains largely private, confined within the Beckham and Peltz families, leaving the public to speculate based on limited information and carefully curated public appearances.
