Woman Sought for Allegedly Making False Bomb Threat to Frame Ex-Lover

Authorities are actively searching for a 25-year-old woman named Trekalon Price who is accused of making a false bomb threat at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas. According to court documents, Price allegedly orchestrated the threat to frame her former romantic partner.

Price is currently wanted on a felony charge of reporting a false alarm or reporting an emergency. The charging document, obtained by USA TODAY, details the incident that occurred on January 4, 2025.

According to the document, an unidentified woman, later identified as Price, contacted 911 and reported a bomb threat at the Houston airport. The caller refused to provide any personal information during the call.

Price informed the 911 operator that an individual with a bomb had recently arrived at Bush Intercontinental Airport on a Delta flight. She further stated that the same individual was planning to depart later that day to Cedar Rapids Airport in Iowa, although she did not specify the time or airline.

During the 911 call, Price claimed that the alleged bomber had told her about his intentions to bomb both Bush Airport and Cedar Rapids Airport. She urged the operator to immediately notify law enforcement, before revealing any details about the supposed bomber.

The charging document indicates that Houston police contacted authorities in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who confirmed that they had received a similar call from an unidentified woman. Cedar Rapids Airport Police verified that the man identified by Price had already landed and that they were actively searching for him.

Price also reportedly spoke to a patrol officer at Cedar Rapids Airport and asserted that the alleged bomber possessed a firearm in his bag. She claimed to have received this information from an unnamed source.

When police officers finally interviewed the man identified by Price, he denied any knowledge of the accusations, including the alleged plans to bomb the airports and "shoot up the place," as stated in the court document.

The man was asked if he knew anyone who might make such accusations against him. He responded by pointing to "the girl he was messing around with." He identified the woman as Trekalon Price, and revealed that she had previously caused him to lose his job by repeatedly contacting his employer, a golf cart shop in Houston.

The man explained that while he did not recognize the phone number used to make the 911 call, Price "likes to use phone apps to make calls with different numbers."

He estimated that he last spoke to Price around the end of 2024. According to the court filing, their relationship lasted from April 2024 to approximately November 2024.

The man suggested that Price might have been aware of his travel plans because she and the mother of his children communicate regularly.

Upon playing the 911 call for the man, he emphatically identified the voice as "100% that’s her."

Police also spoke with the mother of the man’s children, who confirmed that Price had told her that she had contacted his job and the airport. However, she denied sharing any information about her children’s father’s travel plans with Price, or suggesting that he intended to blow up or shoot up any airports.

As of May 8, Trekalon Price remains at large and is actively being sought by law enforcement officials.

This case highlights the potential consequences of making false bomb threats, not only for the accused individual but also for the resources and time wasted by law enforcement agencies investigating these threats. Such actions can cause widespread panic and disruption to travel and daily life. The severity of the charges against Price reflects the seriousness with which authorities treat these types of incidents. The potential prison sentence Price faces if apprehended and convicted serves as a deterrent to others considering making similar false reports. Furthermore, the investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies across state lines, demonstrating the collaborative effort required to address such threats effectively. The use of technology to mask phone numbers, as alleged in this case, also presents a challenge for law enforcement in tracing and identifying perpetrators of crimes committed via phone. The ongoing investigation underscores the commitment of law enforcement to pursue justice and ensure the safety and security of public spaces. The public is encouraged to report any information that may lead to the apprehension of Trekalon Price to the authorities. The successful resolution of this case is crucial for maintaining public trust in law enforcement and sending a clear message that false bomb threats will not be tolerated. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible communication and the potential harm that can result from malicious or false reports. The investigation continues to unfold as authorities work diligently to bring Price into custody and ensure that she is held accountable for her alleged actions. The legal proceedings that will follow her apprehension will likely involve a thorough examination of the evidence and witness testimonies to determine the extent of her involvement in the alleged crime.
