SV Wehen Wiesbaden and Managing Director Nico Schäfer to Part Ways

SV Wehen Wiesbaden, a third-division German football club, has announced that Managing Director Nico Schäfer will be leaving the club at the end of the season at his own request.

Schäfer began his role at SV Wehen in 2016, initially serving as Managing Director of Sports, Marketing, and Communication. In 2022, he assumed the position of Chairman of the Management Board.

During his tenure, Schäfer oversaw two promotions to the second division.

"It was a wonderful time at SVWW with two promotions to the second division, and I am very grateful to the committees for the trust they placed in me," Schäfer said in a statement. "It is time for a new challenge," added the 56-year-old.

SV Wehen stated that they respect Schäfer’s decision. "He has contributed a great deal to SVWW, so it will be a challenge to replace him," said Supervisory Board Chairman Markus Hankammer. The club plans to give Schäfer a fitting farewell after the season.

Schäfer’s departure leaves a significant void in SV Wehen’s leadership.

The club has yet to announce a successor, and the search for a suitable replacement is underway.

Schäfer’s contributions to SV Wehen cannot be understated.

He played a pivotal role in the club’s sporting success and overall development. His expertise in sports management, marketing, and communication has been instrumental in SV Wehen’s rise through the ranks of German football.

The club’s recognition of Schäfer’s accomplishments is a testament to his dedication and hard work.

His legacy at SV Wehen will undoubtedly endure for years to come.

As SV Wehen prepares for the future, the search for a new Managing Director is paramount.

The club will be looking for a candidate with a proven track record in football management and a clear vision for the club’s continued growth.

The successful transition from Schäfer to a new leader will be crucial for SV Wehen’s future aspirations.

The club’s stability, both on and off the field, depends on finding a suitable successor who can build upon Schäfer’s achievements and guide SV Wehen to even greater heights.
