SV Wehen Wiesbaden and Managing Director Nico Schäfer to Part Ways
SV Wehen Wiesbaden, a third-division German football club, has announced that Managing Director Nico Schäfer will be leaving the club at the end of the season at his own request.
Schäfer began his role at SV Wehen in 2016, initially serving as Managing Director of Sports, Marketing, and Communication. In 2022, he assumed the position of Chairman of the Management Board.

"It was a wonderful time at SVWW with two promotions to the second division, and I am very grateful to the committees for the trust they placed in me," Schäfer said in a statement. "It is time for a new challenge," added the 56-year-old.
SV Wehen stated that they respect Schäfer’s decision. "He has contributed a great deal to SVWW, so it will be a challenge to replace him," said Supervisory Board Chairman Markus Hankammer. The club plans to give Schäfer a fitting farewell after the season.
