Nantes Stabbing Case: Investigation Upgraded to "Assassination" Following Teen’s Death

The investigation into the fatal stabbing of a 15-year-old girl at a high school in Nantes, Loire-Atlantique, has taken a significant turn. A 16-year-old boy, masked and armed with a hunting knife approximately 20 centimeters in length, fatally stabbed a 15-year-old female student. The young girl was subjected to a brutal assault, suffering 57 stab wounds in one of the school’s classrooms. The attacker proceeded to another classroom where he inflicted injuries on three other students, two boys and one girl, all between the ages of 15 and 16.

In the immediate aftermath of the tragedy, during a press conference held on April 25th, the prosecutor stated that a definitive motive for the attack could not be established "with certainty." At that time, an investigation for "murder" was initiated.
