January Littlejohn: A Mother’s Fight Against Transgender Ideology and Her Message to President Trump

January Littlejohn, a mother invited as a special guest by President Donald Trump to his recent address to Congress, has emerged as a vocal advocate against what she describes as the harmful effects of transgender ideology on children. In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, Littlejohn expressed her gratitude to the president for recognizing her struggle and for taking steps to protect children from what she perceives as a dangerous trend. However, she also emphasized that the fight is far from over, urging continued action to safeguard parental rights and protect children from irreversible decisions.

During his address, President Trump publicly acknowledged Littlejohn’s presence and commended her for speaking out against what he termed a "form of child abuse" – the promotion of transgender ideology. He highlighted his administration’s efforts to shield children from "toxic ideologies" within schools, directly referencing Littlejohn’s personal experience.

Trump recounted the story of how Littlejohn and her husband discovered that their 13-year-old daughter had been secretly socially transitioned by the school she attended. Allegedly, teachers and administrators colluded to conceal this information from the parents while simultaneously encouraging their daughter to adopt a new name, pronouns (they/them), and a different gender identity. The President touted his recent executive order aimed at preventing public schools from "indoctrinating our children with transgender ideology." Furthermore, he called upon Congress to enact legislation that would permanently ban and criminalize sex changes on children, effectively ending the notion that a child can be "trapped in the wrong body."

Trump declared, "This is a big lie, and our message to every child in America is that you are perfect exactly the way God made you."

Littlejohn expressed profound gratitude to the President for his unwavering support, stating, "I would just like to thank him and continue to speak truth that there are two sexes, male or female, and no matter what one does to their body, that can never change. Sex is binary." She stressed the importance of parental awareness regarding the potentially damaging nature of social transitions for children, asserting, "It’s really important that parents understand how destructive in nature social transition of children is. It’s the first step toward medical intervention, and it makes the child less likely to desist."

She recounted the specific details of her daughter’s experience, explaining how, as a 13-year-old middle school student, her daughter became influenced by friends who were preoccupied with their gender identity. According to Littlejohn, the school took it upon itself to intervene and initiate a social transition for her child without parental knowledge or consent.

"The school took it upon themselves to intervene and socially transition my child. And this goes way beyond name and pronouns. They sit the child down, and in our case it was behind closed doors with three adults that consisted of the school counselor, the assistant principal and a social worker I had never met, and they did an official ‘gender support plan,’" Littlejohn explained.

She further detailed how the school staff presented her daughter with questions regarding her preferred bathroom and locker room usage, her choice of roommates during overnight trips, and, crucially, whether or not she wanted her parents to be informed of the meeting. Littlejohn condemned this practice, stating, "They put the burden on her as to whether or not my parental rights would be honored by deciding she was the sole decision maker as to whether or not my husband and I would be notified of the meeting."

When Littlejohn inquired about the session with the school administration, she was allegedly informed that "they could not give me any information about that meeting" and that "my daughter was now protected by a nondiscrimination law."

Today, Littlejohn reports that her daughter has overcome her gender confusion. However, she maintains that the school’s actions created a significant rift between them, requiring years of effort to repair. She believes that allowing children to experience natural puberty is crucial, as the majority will resolve any gender-related distress on their own.

"If you give these children the gift of time, if you allow them to go through their natural puberty, the vast majority of these kids will resolve their distress naturally, just like my daughter did," she said. "My daughter is a shining example of that, although she still does grieve the time that she lost, years that she lost, dedicated to the lie of this ideology to become something that she could never become. So that part is really tragic."

Despite the challenges she faced, Littlejohn expressed feeling honored and humbled to be invited to attend the presidential address as a guest. She felt a deep sense of responsibility to represent not only her own family’s experiences but also the countless other families who have been impacted by gender identity ideology.

"I felt the weight of not just representing my family and what we’ve been through but of all families who have been harmed by this gender identity ideology," she said. "And it’s still happening. I get phone calls weekly from parents whose children are being seduced by the false idea that they were born in the wrong body."

While the experience left her feeling hopeful, Littlejohn cautioned that executive orders alone will not solve the problem. She emphasized that the ideology has permeated various institutions, including schools, and that many districts continue to operate with secret social transition plans.

"Executive orders alone will not change this, because this ideology has infected every institution, including our schools," she stated. "There are still 21,000 school districts across our country that have these secret social transition plans. And it’s really sad … because these children, this identity crisis is being forced on them. It’s creating confusion where no previous confusion would have existed."

Nevertheless, Littlejohn remains optimistic, asserting, "But the bottom line is, is we have truth and reality on our side. And I’m very grateful that we are moving in the right direction." She continues to advocate for parental rights and the protection of children from what she believes is a harmful and misguided ideology. Her story has resonated with many who share her concerns, making her a prominent voice in the ongoing debate surrounding gender identity and its impact on young people.
