Denver, Colorado – Sunday, April 2nd, 2023 – Denver Broncos linebackers coach Michael Wilhoite was arrested and charged with second-degree assault on a peace officer, according to official jail records.

The incident occurred at Denver International Airport (DIA) on Sunday afternoon. Initial reports indicate that Wilhoite had left his vehicle unattended for an extended period. An airport officer approached Wilhoite and informed him that leaving his car unattended was prohibited. Background and Coaching Career

Michael Wilhoite is a 38-year-old former NFL linebacker who played for the San Francisco 49ers (2012-2016) and the Seattle Seahawks (2017). After his playing career, he transitioned into coaching, joining the New Orleans Saints in 2019 as a special teams assistant. In 2021, he served as the linebackers coach for the Los Angeles Chargers. He joined the Denver Broncos in 2023 as their linebackers coach.
