Tykwon Anderson Nabbed in the Theft of Star Athletes’ Luxury Rides
Miami, Florida – Tykwon Anderson, a 20-year-old suspect, has been apprehended by the police in connection with the theft of luxury vehicles belonging to renowned college football quarterback Carson Beck and women’s basketball standout Hanna Cavinders. Anderson is one of four suspects implicated in the heist, which involved a Lamborghini, according to an arrest report.
Early Morning Heist at the Athletes’ Residence
On Thursday morning, deputies from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office arrived at the couple’s residence in response to a burglary report. Beck and Cavinder informed the investigators that a silver Mercedes-Benz AMG, a red Lamborghini Urus, and a white Range Rover had vanished while they slept.
Quick Recovery and Persistent Search
Within hours, the Mercedes-Benz and Range Rover were recovered by the authorities, but the Lamborghini remained elusive, prompting an ongoing search.
Tracking Technology Leads to Suspect’s Capture
At around 3 a.m. on Thursday, Anderson and three masked accomplices allegedly arrived at Beck’s home. One of them managed to break into a vehicle parked in the driveway, using the garage door opener to gain access to the dwelling and purloin the keys to all three cars.
The alleged perpetrators employed a rental car registered to Anderson to transport themselves to Beck’s residence. Investigators utilized the rental car’s tracking data to locate Anderson and position him at the crime scene.
Arrested and Charged
Tykwon Anderson now faces charges of grand theft, vehicle theft, and burglary. He is currently being held at the Miami-Dade jail, with no bail set at this time. Online court records do not indicate that he has retained an attorney.
Wider Context: A Series of High-Profile Burglaries
This incident follows a string of burglaries targeting high-profile NFL and NBA athletes in recent months. On Tuesday, seven Chilean migrants were indicted in Florida federal court for organizing a nationwide network responsible for burglarizing the homes of stars including Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
The accused individuals allegedly pilfered approximately $2 million worth of valuables, including watches, jewelry, cash, and a safe that was subsequently cracked open.
Beck’s Career Trajectory
Carson Beck, formerly Georgia’s starting quarterback, announced his intention to enter the 2025 NFL Draft in December, shortly after undergoing season-ending elbow surgery. The injury occurred during the first half of the Bulldogs’ overtime triumph over Texas in the SEC championship game.
Despite having an additional year of collegiate eligibility, Beck initially set his sights on the NFL after serving as Georgia’s starting quarterback for two consecutive seasons, amassing a 24-3 record.
However, he subsequently shifted his plans, committing to Miami to join his girlfriend, Hanna Cavinders.
