Clueso Embarks on His Coaching Journey in "The Voice Kids," Exploring the World of Young Talent
After a remarkable 25 years in the music industry, renowned songwriter Clueso makes his debut on the casting show stage with "The Voice Kids." The 44-year-old artist joins the Sat.1 show every Friday at 8:15 PM in search of exceptional young talents.
"I’m not on TV very often," Clueso confessed to the German Press Agency during the recordings in Berlin. "In the beginning, I wondered what I was doing here."
Yet, the energy of the studio quickly enveloped him. "It has an incredible atmosphere," he said. "The applause, the bright lights, the spinning chair, the cameras—it’s quite overwhelming. But I got into the groove, and it’s been a blast."
Clueso, who grew up in Erfurt and released his first album in 2001, has previously participated in Vox’s music exchange program "Sing meinen Song." However, he has always distanced himself from traditional casting shows.
"I was initially hesitant because there were so many casting shows where people were mocked or belittled," Clueso explained. "But that never happens on ‘The Voice Kids.’"
Moreover, he did not initially feel qualified to mentor aspiring singers with formal training. "I’m more of a multi-talented person," he said. "I’m not a specialist in any particular area, but I do well overall. But now I’m at an age where I have a certain level of experience and confidence. I can share my knowledge and offer guidance to these young talents."
"The Voice Kids" enters its 13th season, which has already been available for streaming on Joyn Plus for a week. The show seeks musical talents between the ages of 7 and 15. Alongside Clueso, the coaching panel features pop singer Wincent Weiss, rising star Ayliva, and Silbermond vocalist Stefanie Kloß.
Clueso finds the experience rewarding as he interacts with the young singers. "I’m impressed by the diverse talents," he said. "There are children who can sing, play instruments, and perform. They bring a lot of freshness and enthusiasm to the show."
He emphasizes the importance of authenticity and uniqueness. "I tell them to focus on being themselves and not trying to sound like someone else," Clueso said. "I listen to their voices, their stories, and their aspirations. And I try to support them in finding their own path."
Clueso’s presence on "The Voice Kids" brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the music industry. He believes in the power of mentorship and encourages young artists to pursue their dreams with passion and determination.
"I hope I can pass on my knowledge and help these kids develop their potential," he said. "I want to be a positive influence in their lives and support them on their musical journey."
As the season unfolds, Clueso and his fellow coaches will navigate the challenges of guiding the young talents, making difficult decisions, and ultimately discovering the next generation of exceptional singers.
