All Passengers Hospitalized in Toronto Plane Crash Discharged
Delta Flight 4311 Crash on Monday
On Monday afternoon, a tragic incident occurred at Toronto Pearson International Airport when Delta Air Lines regional jet, operated by Endeavor Air, experienced a crash-landing. The plane, carrying 76 passengers and four crew members, flipped over after landing, coming to a stop at the edge of the runway.
Miraculously, all occupants survived the ordeal, with 21 being hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries. As of Thursday morning, the final passenger has been discharged from the hospital, according to Delta Air Lines.
Response from Delta
Delta CEO Ed Bastian expressed gratitude for the release of all injured passengers and thanked those involved in their care. He emphasized that Delta and Endeavor will continue to support customers, employees, and loved ones affected by the incident.
Investigation Ongoing
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is leading the investigation into the cause of the crash, assisted by the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board and representatives from Delta and Endeavor.
The aircraft wreckage has been moved to a nearby hangar for further examination. Cockpit voice recorders and flight data recorders have also been retrieved for analysis.
Airport Operations Impacted
Two of Toronto Pearson International Airport’s runways were closed due to the wreckage. Removal took several hours, with assistance from the Greater Toronto Airports Authority and Air Canada.
Airport officials have not yet provided a timeline for resuming normal flight operations.
Compensation for Passengers
Delta Air Lines announced it will provide compensation of $30,000 to all 76 passengers on board Flight 4311. The airline spokesperson emphasized that this gesture is unconditional and does not affect passengers’ rights.
