Trapp’s Praise for Frankfurt’s Talented Roster

Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp has expressed his confidence in the current squad’s ability to challenge among the top teams. Trapp believes the team’s blend of experience and young talent has created a formidable unit.

"With our current roster, we can certainly compete with the team that won the Europa League in 2022," said Trapp in a press conference. "We have the most talented team we’ve had in a long time. We have a lot of highly talented young players. We have a lot of potential and a good mix. It’s a very successful squad that can definitely achieve a lot."

Frankfurt’s Impressive Performance and Aspirations

The Hessen, who lifted the Europa League trophy nearly three years ago, currently sit third in the Bundesliga and have reached the Round of 16 in the Europa League. Trapp emphasized the team’s stability and determination to maintain their momentum.

"This season, we’ve been very stable, and I feel like we can keep that up until the end," the 34-year-old goalkeeper highlighted. "We’re going to give it our all and see how far we can go."

Acknowledging Bayern’s Strength Despite Setbacks

Frankfurt will face a significant challenge on Sunday when they travel to take on Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich in a top-of-the-table clash. Trapp acknowledged Bayern’s recent dip in form, but he stressed that they remain a formidable opponent.

"Bayern is 13 points ahead of us, which says a lot," explained Trapp. "A couple of weaker games won’t lead to a crisis in Munich. They’re a very, very strong team having an incredible season."

Contract Extension Discussions and Future Plans

Trapp also addressed the question of his contract, which expires in the summer of 2026. He revealed that no discussions have taken place yet but expressed his current satisfaction and willingness to extend his stay beyond the upcoming season.

"There haven’t been any talks about that yet," said Trapp. "I’m feeling very good and comfortable here. I’m having fun playing football. I can definitely see myself staying a little longer than the end of my current contract."
