Switzerland: An Island of Indifference in a Burning World
Often, as a Swiss citizen, one feels like living in La-La land. While the world is engulfed in flames, we pretend as if it does not concern us at all. The war in Ukraine? That’s somewhere in the East. Gaza? Oh, right. Greenland? A frozen island. And what was the name of that canal again, the one in Panama? Oh, how delightful.

The biggest threat to Europe, he argued, was not Russia or China, but Europe itself – namely, its political leadership.
