"Der Lehrer": Hendrik Duryn Returns as Stefan Vollmer
RTL has announced the highly anticipated return of two iconic series: "Der Lehrer" ("The Teacher") and "Club der roten Bänder" ("Club of the Red Bands"). The announcement was made by RTL-Fiction Head Hauke Bartel in an interview with the industry publication "The Spot" and subsequently reported by RTL.
"Der Lehrer," which premiered on RTL in 2009, was a critical success, winning the German Television Award among other accolades. Actor Hendrik Duryn originally portrayed Stefan Vollmer, a Cologne-based teacher. In the fall of 2020, actor Simon Böer took over the lead role as David Ritter, a math and physics teacher. However, due to declining ratings, the series concluded in 2021.
Now, Duryn will reprise his role as Stefan Vollmer. The new six-episode season will air on both RTL and RTL+.
