4th Suspect Arrested in Munich Train Station Assault

Suspect in Munich Central Station Violent Attack Apprehended in France

Munich, Germany – The fourth and final suspect in a violent altercation at Munich Central Station, which resulted in two injuries, has been apprehended, police announced. The suspect is accused of assaulting two men along with three accomplices late last year.

The Arrest

The 18-year-old suspect had been on the run since the incident. On Tuesday, he was apprehended in Valdahon, France. The arrest was the culmination of a joint operation between German and French law enforcement authorities.

The other three suspects were taken into custody in January. The Munich Public Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the case as an attempted murder.

The Violent Attack

The incident occurred on December 30, 2022, around 9 pm. According to police, the four suspects approached two men at the station and engaged in a verbal altercation. The situation quickly escalated, and the suspects allegedly began physically assaulting the victims.

The victims, identified as 24-year-old and 29-year-old men, suffered serious injuries. They were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Investigation and Identification

Police launched an immediate investigation into the incident. Through surveillance footage and witness testimony, investigators were able to identify three of the suspects and issue arrest warrants. The fourth suspect, who had fled the scene before police arrived, remained at large.

International Cooperation

After the three suspects were apprehended, German authorities issued a Europe-wide arrest warrant for the remaining suspect. French authorities were notified, and a search was initiated.

On Tuesday, French law enforcement located and apprehended the suspect in Valdahon. He was taken into custody and is currently awaiting extradition to Germany.

Charges and Prosecution

The Munich Public Prosecutor’s Office has charged the four suspects with attempted murder. They are accused of acting with intent to kill the victims. The suspects face potential prison sentences if convicted.

The violent attack has raised concerns about safety at Munich Central Station, one of the busiest train stations in Europe. German authorities have implemented additional security measures, including increased police presence and stricter surveillance.
